USARA Regional Series

USARA seeks to foster a national adventure racing community rooted in collaboration and support, and we believe this begins at the regional level with local race directors and their racing communities. Inspired by the autonomous regional efforts and models of RDs coordinating the Wisconsin and Rocky Mountain Adventure Racing Series, USARA is supporting regional RDs currently collaborating to form more cohesive regional communities and race series across the nation.

Series coordinators, working in conjunction with USARA, believe that USARA sanctioning standards help regional RDs set a higher bar and that USARA sanctioning resources help prospective RDs to the series meet higher minimum event production and management standards.

Starting in 2026, USARA is excited to partner with regional RDs to create more regional partnerships while also aligning with the already established Rocky Mountain and Wisconsin Adventure Race Series. Each series will organize in autonomous fashion determining the series structure and prizes that work best for each region. USARA will orchestrate occasional meetings between regional coordinators but will generally not play a governing role in regional series. For each established regional series, USARA pledges to support the mixed gender champion with a $400 credit toward attendance at the National Championship.*

We hope to work with other regional RDs when the time is right to form additional regional series in other parts of the country in the years ahead!

*The mixed gender prize will be awarded using the USARA rankings and will only include USARA sanctioned races; a given regional series may include non-sanctioned events in other ranking categories if they choose.
