Donations Lead to New Bike for Junior Championship Racer

By Jeremy Johnson

Some conversations turn into something truly special.

A few months ago, while chatting with my Broad Run Off Road Adventure Race family, we were talking about one of the incredible young athletes from the Full Steam Ahead Adventure Race Club. As we talked about Logan earning the incredible honor of becoming an Eagle Scout, I mentioned it would be awesome if we could do something to recognize such a huge accomplishment.

What started as a simple idea quickly turned into action. The Broad Run Off Road team rallied behind it, and together with the generosity of the adventure racing community, we raised enough money to buy him a brand-new bike.

Today was finally the day!

He had absolutely no idea what was about to happen, and the look of complete surprise and excitement on his face made every bit of the effort worthwhile. Moments like these remind us what this community is really all about.

This bike isn't just a gift—it's the bike he'll be riding as he represents Team USA at the Youth Adventure Racing World Championships. We couldn't be more excited for him and can't wait to watch him put it to good use.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who donated and supported this effort. A very special shout-out to Broad Run Off Road for believing in this idea from the very beginning and making it happen. And an enormous thank you to Haymarket Bicycles for helping us find the perfect bike and for going above and beyond to support this cause. Your generosity and commitment to our local adventure racing community are truly appreciated.

Congratulations on earning the rank of Eagle Scout. It's a tremendous accomplishment and a reflection of your character, leadership, and dedication. We're proud of you and excited to see all the adventures ahead.

This is what makes the adventure racing community so special. We don't just race together—we support one another, celebrate each other's accomplishments, and invest in the next generation.
