Getting Younger

Adventure racing has been around for a while. And while the sport ages, so do adventure racers. While many races have incorporated Family divisions and races, the sport is starting to carve out a niche for youth teams to entice younger athletes to give the sport a try.

Recently, ARWS announced a Youth Adventure Race World Championship. USARA will sponsor two teams—one in each of the U18 and U25 age groups—at the landmark event in Quebec, Canada, from July 23–26.

More recently, Broad Run Off Road has added a Youth Division to their sprint-length races. The teams will consist of 11 to 17-year-old racers.
