The Edge Adventure RaceSprint Adventure Race
TBA Southeastern area of PA PA
The Edge Adventure Race is a great race for those new to the sport of adventure racing, as well as for those seasoned athletes looking for a challenge. We'll give you either 3 or 6 hours to complete the fun filled course on foot, boat and mountain bike!

Adventure racing is a fun sport that will have you running, paddling, biking, and thinking (yes your brain and team work are a must!). If you're tired of the "same old - same old" and want to add some creative sport to your life - then this one is for you!

Get ready to grab a friend or two, and come on out for a day of outdoor adventure and team work. Want to try the race alone? No problem - we offer a solo division as well.

How it works: On the morning of the event participants will be given a race map with the checkpoints pre-plotted on the maps. A fun opening activity will determine if your team will travel on foot, boat, or mountain bike first. You must visit every checkpoint together as a team, and you have either 3 or 6 hours to get to as many of these points as possible. The most points collected, and fastest time determines the winner.

The paddling will be in either canoes for teams or single person kayaks for solo racers. You must bring your own mountain bike, and the trails are a combination of paved, dirt roads, and single track. The foot navigation section will have you running both on the trail and into the woods!

The morning of the race we will also offer a pre-race mini adventure race training session, for those new to the sport. So don't be shy, come on out and try something new! If you've raced with us before, come on back -- no two adventure race courses are the same!!

Grab some friends and come on out for a great, fun challenge!

Pangorge challenges athletes to run, bike and paddle through the area known infamously as Suck Creek. The event was inaugurated in 2014 as a point to point, solo or team race. Over the years, it has morphed naturally to its current state: a checkpoint style race with minimal boundaries allowing participants to utilize their body and mind to maximize outcomes. 2019 marks Pangorge’s 6th year of putting adventurers to the test, challenging them to push their limits while introducing them to the nether regions of one of the South’s most unique and treasured natural environments.

Brake the Habit 15-Hour Adventure RaceAdventure Race
Holliday Lake State Park Appomattox VABonus Points: 5
USARA National Championship Qualifier
Brake the Habit is back for its fourth edition! This race has historically been held in early spring—we are excited to bring it back as the days get (slightly) longer and warmer. We have moved it to a new location, with terrain that is yet untouched by adventure racing. Have you been couped up inside all winter long, on Zwift or the treadmill? Are you bursting to get outside in the woods, as they come alive after the long winter? So get ready for a day of biking, trekking, padding and navigating!

Soloists, 2-person and 3-person teams will have the option of the 6-hour, beginner-friendly race, or the longer, harder 15-hour race. The 15-hour race will be a USARA Regional Qualifier for the National Championships in September 2020.

The 15-hour race has a twist to it… the race will start at midnight and finish at 3pm on Saturday.

Why? Well, why not?! It’s adventure racing and anything can happen. If you haven't done a race before with a midnight start, it's a pretty cool way to kick things off. By the time you get to the finish line at 3pm on Saturday, you will be ready for a nap!

Both races will take place in the Appomattox-Buckingham State Forest, the largest state forest in Virginia. With nearly 20,000 acres of land, the forest is bordered by the Appomattox River to the south, the famous Appomattox Battlefield to the west and the beginning of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance. Located within the forest, Holliday Lake State Park will be our host park for the race; teams will be able to camp in the park over the weekend. Both races will finish at the same time on Saturday, with one big post-race party at the finish line!

Mint Springs Adventure RaceSprint Adventure Race
Mint Springs Valley Park Crozet VA
Welcome in spring with an adventure race at Mint Springs park in Crozet, VA. Hunt for over 30 checkpoints spread throughout the park using a compass and map. The course will have a mix of checkpoints, some good for kids and first time racers, some maliciously placed. Every racer will be given a course map on race day with the checkpoints pre-marked. Find as many checkpoints as you can in 6 hours. This is a rogaine style (all on foot race against the clock) adventure race. No bikes or paddling required. Stay on the trails...or not. Up to you. Race as a team or solo. Any racer under 15 must race on a team with an adult.

Because many children cannot wander the woods for 6 hours, there will be a 3 hour kids race. Any team with at least one member 14 and under is automatically eligible for the kids race. Just make it back to base camp by 1200 to be scored in the kids bracket. Racers 10 and under are good candidates for the 3 hour race.
